Adventure in the Ascent
To the adventure in Him... This phrase has been a rallying cry for me and my circle of friends for years. We were designed for intimate relationship with God. Jesus made this possible through His sacrifice on the Cross. The veil was torn, and we were invited beyond. We were created for a grand adventure in which we come to Him in repentance, maintain intimacy, learn of Him, walk His path, and ascend the hill of the Lord. Adventure in the Ascent
Faith: From a measure to more (2 Thessalonians 1:3-4/Heb. 11)
↠Thessalonica- A “healthy” growing church that had increasing, flourishing faith
↠We know that faith can and should GROW
↠What is faith? Hebrews 11:1- Putting your trust in God and having confidence that He will fulfill his promises. “The assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
↠Faith is what initially brings us in to be a follower of Jesus (Ephesians 2)
↠It doesn’t just end there, it is meant to grow
↠Our level of faith affects every area of our lives, there is either confidence growing in Him or doubts growing, is your faith flourishing & growing?
↠Are you content with your current level of faith? Will He “find faith on the earth?”
↠The apostles in Luke 17:5, said to Jesus, “Increase our faith!”
↠The father in Luke 9- “I believe; help my unbelief!”
↠God has given each of us a “measure of faith” (Rom. 12:3)
↠How do we grow in faith? Some practical steps-
↠We walk by faith, not by site (2 Cor. 5:7)
↠Faith deals with the unseen, we fix our gaze above, The more we look at
physical circumstances, the less likely it is that we will have faith..
↠We act upon His promptings/leading & exercise our faith (Heb. 11:7)
↠When He prompts us, we respond in obedience- one yes leads to another yes
↠We exercise our faith by having to rely on Him and then rejoice when He comes
through
↠We feed on the Word (Rom. 10:17)
↠The Bible is intended to produce faith in you. If you want to strengthen your faith,
you must have a regular diet of reading the Bible
↠“I always begin the day by feeding on God’s Word, not just reading it.” -George

↠We put the Word into practice (James 2:17)
↠Putting His Words into practice, HIs way, grows faith
↠Surround ourselves with a cloud of witnesses & celebrate testimony (Heb. 12:1)
↠Who are you surrounding yourself with? (Prov. 13:20)
↠This principle is either helping you or hurting you when it comes to your
faith. We must get around people who believe in God and believe that He is at work. Testimonies / Books / Stories of God’s feats- feed on them & celebrate what God is doing- what you celebrate, you get more of!
↠Respond to HIm as the apostles did- “Lord, increase our faith!”
↠What do you have faith to believe Him for? For you? Your family? Doves Creek?
